In Europe already thinking how to revive the old currency
Some European central banks are preparing emergency plans in case of breakdown or exit the eurozone countries in the euro area and are considering printing their own notes - writes the daily "Wall Street Journal."
Already at the beginning of December, the central bank's chairman Mervyn King of Great Britain, said that the Bank of England has a "rescue plan" to tackle the possible disintegration of the euro area. According to the newspaper Central Bank of Ireland - a country that is a member of the eurozone - is currently investigating whether it is necessary to provide access to additional printing presses. In turn, Montenegro, which uses the euro, although not a member of the monetary union, is considering introducing a new currency. - However, its central bank is not possible to print it - writes the daily.
Also outside the euro area, many European central bank is considering scenarios for a possible new reality. Switzerland is considering another possible substitution of the euro currency - for example, a German brand of the future - as the main point of reference against the franc.
